OBJECTS:
2. The objects of the Association are:- a. To provide and promote non-political social activities for unmarried or separated persons who are members or guests of the Association. b. To promote a link of friendship amongst members and their guests.
CONSTITUTION
3. The Association is owned by Káren Seddon.
4. The Owner will endeavour to provide the Business with all reasonable necessities for carrying on the Association in accordance with its objects and rules. The Owner will be solely responsible for all expenses connected with the Association including the engagement, dismissal or payment of staff where necessary.
5. A person shall become a member of the Association if elected thereto by the Owner and upon such election the Owner may require any candidate for membership to appear before her for interview and may require proof of nonmarital status.
6. The Owner shall have the right to exclude any member from any premises used by the Association for any reason which seems to the Owner to be good and sufficient reason without any explanation being given.
7. Every member of the Association shall upon payment of any admission charge fixed by the Owner be entitled to use and enjoy in common with the other members of the Association facilities therein provided by the Owner for the use of the Association subject to the fire and/or other safety regulations.
TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
8. The Owner shall have an absolute discretion as to whether a person shall become or remain a member of the Association and shall have the right to expel or terminate the membership of any member for any reason which will seem to the Owner to be good and sufficient without any explanation being given and without returning that member’s subscription or any part thereof. SUBSCRIPTION
9. The annual subscription is as stated in our current magazine, Link Two Go. Membership subscription shall be due and payable in full on acceptance and thereafter every 12 months.
CONDUCT OF MEMBERS
10. No conduct contrary to law shall be allowed on the premises of the Association or directed against any of its members.
11. No conduct calculated or liable to injure the name or reputation of the Association or any members thereof shall be allowed either on or off the Association premises.
12. No member or guest may canvas or pursue any business or social activities which conflict with the business or social activities of the Association save with the prior written consent of the Owner.
13. Every member shall inform the Owner of any change of address as soon as reasonably possible.
14. Every member or guest enters into any activity at his own risk and the Owner is not responsible for any loss or damage howsoever caused.
15. The Owner shall from time to time give to members written notice of events and activities but shall not be responsible for non-delivery or misdelivery thereof.
16. Each member of the Association shall be deemed to have notice of and be bound by these rules upon being accepted for membership.
GUESTS:
17. Members may Introduce and entertain guests at the Association’s functions provided they would be eligible for membership. A visitors’ book shall be kept in which the name and addresses of guests shall be recorded.
18. Guests may pay up to but no more than two visits to any Association functions before applying for membership.
19. Members shall be responsible for the conduct of their guests whilst visiting the Association.
20. The Owner has absolute discretion to suspend membership without giving any reason for so doing.
21. No Person who has been expelled from the Association, or whose membership has been terminated, or whose application for membership has been rejected or has failed to renew his/her membership subscription shall be introduced or accepted as a guest save with leave of the Owner.
22. The Owner shall have a right to appoint officers of the Association to assist her in her management. The expenses of the Association officers reasonably incurred may be reimbursed by the Owner in her absolute discretion.
AMENDMENTS AND BYELAWS:
23. The Owner shall have the right to alter, revoke, supplement or augment these rules or make other rules in substitution therefore or make vary and revoke bye-laws for the regulation of the officers of the Association and the conduct of its members.
INTERPRETATION:
24. In these rules wherever the masculine shall appear it shall be deemed to include the feminine wherever the word ‘Owner’ shall appear otherwise than in rules such word shall be deemed to include the duly appointed agent or servant of the Owner. |
